What is Brainspotting?

Brainspotting is a brain-based therapy, backed by neuroscience, to help you with stress and trauma. Brainspotting helps you process experiences that can affect your mind and body.

It is known for helping people with all forms of trauma, anxiety, phobias, anger, ADHD, and other mental health problems. It is also helpful for sports performance and creativity. 

How does Brainspotting work?

Brainspotting allows clients to self-scan to locate, process, and release tension in the body by using the client's field of vision. Looking at brainspots also promotes coherence between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system. The therapist will be there for you to help you process any tough memories you might have.

What Can I Expect?

  • Brainspotting sessions can be held in-person or virtually. Ensuring confidentiality is the highest priority when it comes to working with clients. 

  • During a session, the client will talk about an issue that is making them feel activated. Clients can talk as much as they want about the issue. Instead of thinking about thoughts and emotions, the Brainspotting therapist will have clients focus on sensations in the body while processing. 

  • Brainspotting's goal is to help release tension stored in the brain and body more quickly and efficiently than talk therapies.
